I made this book after visiting La Mortella, a garden created by Sir William Walton and his wife on the island of Ischia, in the Bay of Naples.  These words were painted on the wall of a grotto in the garden and came from Sir William’s opera Troieis and Cressida – The water lily was one of the prized plants in the garden.
